Job Overview:

TMA is looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Director to lead shopper marketing efforts across two priority CPG clients, ideally in our New York City office, but open to Chicago and Dallas. This role is client-facing and responsible for overseeing the development and execution of best-in-class shopper marketing programs tailored to specific retailer environments. The Senior Director will lead cross-functional teams, collaborate closely with clients and retail partners, and ensure programs are insight-driven, and aligned to brand and sales objectives.

Responsibilities:

Client & Shopper Strategy Leadership

  • Serve as the strategic lead for two key CPG clients, translating brand and sales goals into integrated shopper/omni-channel marketing plans.
  • Develop custom strategies based on retailer nuances (e.g., Walmart, Kroger, Target, Amazon) and shopper insights.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders and vendor partners.

Campaign Development & Execution

  • Lead briefing, development, and execution of omnichannel shopper campaigns—including in-store, digital, social, influencer, eCommerce, and retail media.
  • Oversee timelines, budgets, KPIs, and performance tracking for all programs. 
  • Guide internal teams (strategy, creative, production, media, analytics) to deliver effective programs.

Retailer & Category Expertise 

  • Stay current on retailer strategies, programs, and media offerings.
  • Work with strategy partners to identify category trends and whitespace opportunities to proactively drive value for clients.
  • Significant experience working with retail media networks and digital shopper tools.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in shopper marketing, preferably within a CPG-focused agency environment.
  • Deep understanding of omnichannel shopper behavior.
  • Experience developing programs for major national retailers (e.g., Walmart, Target, Kroger, Amazon).
  • Strong client management skills with a history of building trusted partnerships.
  • Confident presenter and strategic thinker who can balance big-picture vision with flawless execution.
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring a team, with excellent collaboration and communication skills.

The range below represents the typical base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of TMA in the United States. Salaries offered will vary based on multiple factors including but not limited to candidate’s years of experience, qualifications, skillset, certifications, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
