Team Intro
The TikTok USDS User Research Insights team creates knowledge and provides insight surrounding the attitudes, perceptions, behaviors, and ways of thinking of various TikTok user classes (viewers, creators, non-users, etc) with the overarching goal of informing key business decisions and product development, while carefully maintaining user privacy and mitigating company risk. We are a US team with diverse backgrounds unified by a strong curiosity and enthusiasm for conducting applied behavioral science research. Our Trust & Safety team's commitment is to keep our online community safe.

In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement UX mixed-methods research studies, sticking to quick timelines while maintaining rigorous methodology
- Analyze user research data and synthesize findings into actionable insights that enable stakeholders to make business-critical decisions
- Define and measure UX metrics and develop programs for tracking user experience over time
- Proactively identify research needs and gaps and develop and implement solutions for scaling our research practice
- Provides strategic and tactical support to multiple business lines to help the businesses grow sustainably
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify critical research questions and understand user and creator needs in the North American market and other global markets
- Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Psychology, Statistics, Sociology, Marketing Research, Human Computer Interaction, or other related fields
- 2+ years of combined experience and postgraduate education in user experience research, design research, or product research in the technology industry, preferably in consumer tech or content
- Proven experience with using and appropriately selecting different design research methodologies including but not limited to: usability studies, field/remote testing, focus groups, interviews, concept tests, diary studies, surveys, A/B testing
- Experience in advanced quantitative methods and statistics, such as factor analysis, regression analysis, ANOVA, T-tests

Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets with statistical tools (SQL, Python, R, SPSS) and present findings clearly to influence product direction and business decisions
- Ability to manage multiple research projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and take the initiative to independently solve problems and learn new skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to collaborate with Global Trust & Safety team, including occasional meetings before 9am or after 5pm

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $97000 - $158000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
