TikTok Shop's Supply Chain & Logistics is looking for an experienced Transportation Carrier Planning Specialist to plan and coordinate transportation activities with carriers to ensure efficient and cost-effective freight movements across our supply chain network. You will collaborate with internal teams, carrier partners, and logistics providers to optimize transportation planning processes and meet business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate transportation activities with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers to optimize freight movements, minimize transportation costs, and meet service level agreements (SLAs).
- Analyze transportation requirements, shipment volumes, delivery schedules, and inventory levels to develop transportation plans, load schedules, and routing strategies.
- Collaborate with procurement, warehouse operations, sales, and customer service teams to align transportation plans with inventory availability, customer demands, and business priorities.
- Negotiate carrier contracts, rates, and service agreements based on transportation needs, lane requirements, capacity constraints, and market conditions.
- Monitor carrier performance metrics, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and conduct performance reviews to evaluate carrier performance, compliance with SLAs, and identify areas for improvement.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) or logistics software to manage transportation data, track shipment statuses, and optimize routing and scheduling for efficient freight movements.
- Coordinate with carriers and internal teams to manage transportation exceptions, resolve shipment issues, and ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.
- Conduct transportation analysis, cost-benefit assessments, and scenario planning to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvements, and optimization of transportation networks.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in transportation planning and logistics to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., TIA, CSCP) are a plus.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in transportation planning, carrier operations, logistics coordination, or related roles within the logistics and supply chain industry.
- Strong understanding of transportation modes (air, ocean, rail, trucking), carrier networks, freight rates, and transportation regulations.
- Experience in negotiating carrier contracts, managing carrier relationships, and optimizing transportation processes for efficiency and cost savings.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), logistics software, and data analytics tools for transportation planning and optimization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with carriers, internal teams, and stakeholders to achieve transportation goals and objectives.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze transportation data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing business needs and market conditions.

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $111467 - $208578 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
