About the Team
The merchandise product team is responsible for the growth of selection and assortment of different products on TikTok Shop through different tools and platforms that are built for our merchants. This product strategy manager will partner closely with with Product Managers, Account Managers, and other key stakeholders to drive merchandising strategy.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the product strategy owner within the TikTok Shop team, deeply understanding merchant needs in day-to-day merchandising operations and developing a competitive product strategy and roadmap.
- Identify merchant pain points and demands in merchandise operations and data analysis, and translate them into clear product requirements for Product Managers.
- Lead go-to-market (GTM) initiatives for merchandise diagnosis and analysis tools, targeting both global sellers and internal users.
- Assist in training AI models to generate accurate, easy-to-understand product analysis reports.
- Align product vision across teams and stakeholders, including senior leadership, and drive initiatives through to execution.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience in the e-commerce industry, with direct involvement in product operations analysis (e.g., advertising performance analysis, product traffic analysis, new product operations).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to formulate clear merchant strategies based on product data.
- Strategic thinker with a structured problem-solving approach and an innovative mindset.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills with engineering, design, data, and operations teams.
- Proficiency in SQL for basic data analysis, and strong product sensitivity with data-backed judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA degree in related field.
- Experience in content-driven e-commerce, including strategies for video, livestream, or visual descriptions to drive conversions.
- Familiarity with content commerce metrics and the dynamics of the merchant-creator ecosystem.
- Background in content commerce agency operations, with understanding of advertising strategies and promotional mechanisms.
- Experience in consulting, with strong structured thinking and high-output execution capabilities.
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $98040 - $171423 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
