About The Team:
The category strategist team aims to drive consumer traffic into our platform with an aim to convert them via the planning and executing the different levels of our annual campaign calendar for the marketplace, specific categories or brands.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver assortment, profitability, and sales/GMV targets by leading the business segment on the needs of the customer and identifying suitable opportunities for cluster and category growth.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the e-commerce ecosystem, value proposition and writing business proposals by identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs, while being grounded in the local industry landscape.
- Dissemble goals , formulate budget plans, and transforming goals into executable plans;

- Formulate the go-to-market, seller/brand growth and merchandise strategy for the local market; evaluate and evolve the strategy to meet business needs;
- Build and monitor the operational index, and work closely with the data team to optimize the data products;
- Monitor the merchant ecosystem; discover high-potential merchants and explosive new product opportunities; while being alert with risks;
- Help business growth through product optimization, merchant governance and data analysis;
- Understand e-commerce or live broadcast field is a plus;
- Implement and manage important merchant strategies;
- The position requires a leader who can work autonomously in a fast paced, highly demanding and ambiguous environment. The successful candidate would possess great business judgment, with a track record of strong project delivery, commercial negotiations and relationship management along with deep analytical acumen. Additionally, this position involves working with multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- More than 5 years experience of strategic and analytical experience at leading management consulting firms and/or tech/ecommerce companies
- Experience in e-commerce and FMCG B2C consumer industries
- Minimum Bachelor's degree or above
- Proficiencies in English is a must as the primary language of work. Bahasa Indonesia and/or Mandarin proficiency are a plus which will be used for market-specific communications.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and writing), can effectively handle cross-functional collaboration, and team management experience.
- Strong analytic, logical and problem solving skills with good attention to detail, and proficiency in SQL and Excel.
- Based in Indonesia or willing to be assigned (relocate) to Indonesia
Preferred Qualifications
- Proactive and self-starter mindset focused on continuous improvement
- Experience with SQL, Python, Tableau, and other data visualization tools
- Big picture thinking, structured, organized, and experienced in managing projects in different scales (planning, root cause identification, risk mitigation, synthesization, and process optimization)
- Adaptable, fast learner, highly motivated, and versatile player with some exposure in ops and commercial
- Proficiency in Excel and major external syndicated databases (e.g. traffic, market data)
