Technical Project Lead - Global Security Organization
Responsibilities
The mission of TikTok's Global Security Organization is to build and earn trust by reducing risk and securing our businesses and products. Also known as "GSO", this team is the foundation of our efforts to keep TikTok safe, secure, and operating at scale for over 1 billion people around the world. We work to ensure that the TikTok platform is safe and secure, that our users' experience and their data remains safe from external or internal threats, and that we comply with global regulations wherever TikTok operates.
Trust is one of TikTok's biggest initiatives, and security is integral to our success. In whatever ways users interact with us - whether they're watching videos on their For You page, interacting with a Live video, or buying products on TikTok Shop - GSO protects their data and privacy, so they can have a secure and trustworthy experience.
TikTok's Insider Risk team is seeking a regionally focused Insider Risk Investigator to lead high-impact internal investigations in the AMS (US, Canada, LATAM) region. In this role, you will investigate threats related to, but not limited to, data misuse, policy violations, dual employment, and reputational risk stemming from TikTok personnel or operations.
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Lead who has a background in cybersecurity to join the Global Security Organization's Insider Risk Team. You will sit within our Insider Risk Detection Engineering Team and drive execution across projects that intersect security engineering, data analytics, compliance, HR, legal, and IT, and other critical areas of the business. These initiatives often involve sensitive data, complex stakeholder coordination, and the design of technical solutions that protect both employees and company assets. You'll play a central role in aligning priorities, removing blockers, and delivering projects with precision and discretion.
- Lead project planning, execution, and delivery for insider risk initiatives such as:
- Behavioral detection pipelines
- Insider risk response automation
- Data exfiltration monitoring
- Tooling integrations
- Cross-functional security deliverables in response to audits and compliance needs
- Manage sensitive, high-stakes projects discreetly, with an emphasis on confidentiality and data protection.
- Maintain project documentation, status reports, and clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Track dependencies, surface risks early, and proactively drive resolution of blockers.
- Translate complex technical requirements into execution plans with clearly defined milestones.
- Drive post-mortems and retrospectives for projects to continuously improve delivery and operational rigor.
- Advocate on behalf of the team with global stakeholders.
