About the team
Apache Doris is a MPP analytical database product written in C++. It's supporting complex analysis and high-concurrency queries over hundreds of PBs data in ByteDance . Its representative usage scenarios are Data Analysis for internal data analysts, external advertisers, e-commerce merchants, and content creators on TikTok, which are closely integrated with ByteDance's online core systems. We have made lots of improvements on Apache Doris, including query performance, transaction models and stability etc.
- Develop an industry-leading PB-level OLAP engine, supporting interactive analysis for most of ByteDance's product lines.
- Lead the design, implementation, testing, optimization, and integration of the engine, building the next-generation elastic analysis engine for massive-scale data.
- Design and implement a high-concurrency, low-latency, and high-fault-tolerant system based on the characteristics of business scenarios.
- Contribute to open-source community development, provide feedback for kernel optimization, and build a positive reputation for open source.
Qualifications
- Proficient in C++ with a solid foundation in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, multithreading programming, I/O, and operating systems.
- Familiar with a database system or big data engine, such as K/V, ClickHouse, Spark, Doris, with in-depth understanding of core modules, including execution plan optimization, execution, storage, etc.
- Experience in Cloud/New Hardware/Database integration is preferred.
- Strong self-driven ability, adept at problem-solving, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.
