About the team
TikTok UX team is responsible for the product design of the TikTok app. Our key vertical ownership areas include Core app Product Infrastructure, Social, Creation, and Design Systems. Providing professional design methods and practices, the team helps improve user experience and working efficiency of these products and areas.
Responsibilities
- Account Experience Design: Lead the design and continuous optimization of user flows for login, registration, and account security to ensure a seamless and secure user experience.
- Main Framework Design: Apply strong systems thinking and logical reasoning to design key product frameworks. Define interaction models and design guidelines for core user experience components, such as the For You feed (video player) and Following feed, to deliver an engaging and intuitive video consumption journey.

- End-to-End Design Ownership: Independently drive high-impact projects from concept to execution. Make design decisions backed by user needs and business goals, while delivering high-quality UI with strong visual aesthetics.
- User-Centric Process: Immerse yourself in the product to deeply understand user behavior and business context. Leverage data, user feedback, and research to identify pain points and opportunities, and translate insights into effective design solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders across teams to align on vision, share progress, and ensure seamless implementation of design strategies.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience in UX and UI design, having led multiple projects from concept through launch with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to rapidly ideate and iterate design concepts with a user-first mindset.
- Open to feedback, collaborative, and patient under evolving product needs.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and adaptability in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly present ideas, rationale, and design decisions.
- A global perspective and keen interest in international digital product trends.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years designing consumer-facing mobile products, ideally in content creation or consumption spaces.
- Experience with A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, and data-informed design.
- Track record of collaborating across functions and navigating organizational complexity.
- Experience with front-end programming.

- Proficiency in Mandarin and English, enabling effective collaboration with Mandarin-speaking global clients to effectively communicate, improve client satisfaction, and drive business growth.

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $137000 - $286000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
