Responsibilities
The Government Relations and Public Policy team covers a wide range of responsibilities: government affairs and government relations, policy and issue area expertise, crisis management and risk mitigation, outreach, engagement and partnerships. The mission of the team is to earn trust and prevent, manage, and mitigate political, legislative, and regulatory threats to TikTok.
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Senior Manager for Public Policy and Government Affairs, Minor Safety, to join our growing government affairs team in Brussels. This person will play a crucial role in advancing TikTok's mission by navigating the complex EU regulatory landscape. The position requires expertise in relevant policy/legislative areas and public affairs experience in Brussels. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating sound judgment and a proactive approach to managing risks and opportunities in a rapidly-scaling business, with the ultimate goal of supporting our younger users online.

Responsibilities
- Stay abreast of emerging policy trends and legislative developments at EU/Brussels level that could impact minor safety and the business;
- Provide insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders on potential implications for TikTok's business and operations;
- Lead on the development of public policy positions and advocacy campaigns in Brussels, aligned with the business strategy;
- Be TikTok's external advocate in Brussels on minor safety;
- Build world-class relationships with relevant stakeholders, including organisations dedicated to online child safety, policy makers, legislators and business associations, to help achieve public policy goals;
- Manage relationships with agencies and relevant trade associations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Deep understanding of EU legislative, public policy and regulatory issues affecting minor safety;
- Strong contact network in Brussels across the EU institutions and relevant minor safety organisations;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Positive, with a can-do attitude - a self-starter who can work independently but also highly values building strong relationships with teammates and cross-functional colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-lingual skills would be beneficial given the locality and nature of the work;
- Previous experience in the area of online / minor safety
