About the Team
The Global Public Policy team's work spans a broad and diverse range of functions and workstreams, including government affairs and government relations; policy, product, and issue area expertise; risk and crisis management and mitigation; outreach, coalitions, and partnerships; and philanthropy. The mission of the Global Public Policy team is to prevent, manage, and mitigate political, legislative, and regulatory threats and to promote a political, legislative, and regulatory environment that supports growth and innovation for our business.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a bridge between the Global Public Policy and AI Product teams, facilitating the integration of external viewpoints and policy advancements into business strategies.
- Support engagement with policymakers and civil society on matters pertinent to AI initiatives.
- Provide support for AI projects through public policy focused guidance on new applications, features, functionalities, and initiatives. This includes interpreting the business and technological implications of public policy developments and communicating them to relevant teams.
- Assist in the progression of AI initiatives from conception to deployment, offering insights to inform public policy strategies and engagements, and ensuring the Global Public Policy team remains informed about significant developments in AI products and operations.
- Identify, monitor, analyze, and disseminate information on relevant policy trends, legislative initiatives, industry developments, and issues critical to the company and its AI products.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders, including legal, product development, communications, policy, and safety teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Substantial experience in Public Policy or Government Affairs, with a focus on technology policy and/or policy advocacy. Strong knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies and associated policy issues/risks, including safety, bias, fairness and transparency, is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Political Science, International Affairs, Government, Public Affairs, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in presentation and analytical skills, with the capability to elucidate the business and innovation ramifications of public policy developments to global teams.
- Exceptional judgment, persuasion, and advocacy skills, coupled with creativity, and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional listening, problem-solving, and verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to distill complex policy issues into easy to digest explanations and compelling messages.

Preferred Qualifications:
- JD or Advanced Degree a plus, not required.
- Experience working with international partners across different time zones and cultures.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $150400 - $266000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
