About the team
TikTok Search Growth team is responsible for driving both the scale and user perception of TikTok Search. Our mission is to build a best-in-class search experience that leverages TikTok's UGC ecosystem and strengthens user trust and mindshare in our search product. We focus on discovering scalable growth levers across diverse user scenarios and delivering differentiated value in key content verticals through search recommendation, visual search, and AI-powered exploration.
Responsibilities
- Own the content quality, candidate generation, and user experience of TikTok's search recommendation systems, including recommended queries, visual search, and AI Search features.
- Deeply understand user needs across various search scenarios and define what constitutes a high-quality experience, supported by user research, data analysis, and operational assessment.

- Leverage advanced techniques such as LLM-based content generation and semantic understanding strategies to improve recommendation effectiveness.
- Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders including algorithm engineers, product managers, analysts, and designers to ensure the health and sustainable growth of TikTok's search recommendation traffic.
- Build and iterate on reputation-defining scenarios and content surfaces that reinforce TikTok Search's core value.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or above with 1+ years of work experience in product or operation.
- Proven ability to abstract user needs and design content strategies based on user behavior and content dynamics.
- Strong user and content sensitivity; able to identify and prioritize high-value opportunities for user engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in content strategy, search/recommendation systems, visual search, or AI-powered products.
- Excellent logical thinking, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $100000 - $160000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
