About The Team
We are the Search Safety team, responsible for ensuring the safety of both user queries and the results returned during search. We work closely with Policy, Data Science, Algorithm, and Operations teams to define safety standards, design and evaluate key metrics, and develop and implement enforcement strategies-all to deliver a safe and trustworthy search experience for our users.
Responsibilities
- Your scope includes the safety of all TikTok Search Safety related features, including proactive search suggestions, reactive search suggestions, search results, etc;
- You will help define a safety product roadmap, set metrics to measure effectiveness, and drive cross-functional efforts to achieve success;

- You will analyze and identify risks and leverage in-app product solutions or back-end processes to effectively; address risk and work with the engineering team to implement product solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of product management experience in Consumer-Facing mobile or web internet industries;
- 3+ years of experience managing Product Managers;
- Ability to identify, analyze and design product solutions; a proven track record of pushing ambitious product changes;
- Strong cross-functional project management skills, good communication skills; a passion to unite people behind a common goal; ability to work across time zones and locations;
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin required: The role involves frequent communication with global teams, clients and stakeholders in English-speaking regions as well as in Chinese-speaking markets. Proficiency in Mandarin is essential to effectively engage with Chinese-speaking partners to understand cultural nuances, and navigate business transactions in key markets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience in Trust and Safety, integrity, minor safety, fraud detection, or other relevant experience;
- Experience building social networking or video content applications, or other consumer internet applications;
- Ability to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges of the role;
- Resilience and commitment to self-care to manage the emotional demands of the role.
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $165120 - $414000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
