Team Intro
The USDS Privacy and Integrated Security team is responsible for overseeing and governing all activities of privacy impacts to TikTok USDS' operations.
- We address complex and cutting-edge challenges, aiming to build the world's most trusted social media platform.
- We partner with TikTok global legal, R&D, privacy and security organizations in advancing our privacy practices.
- We oversee, govern and support the integration and optimization of operational privacy capabilities including data inventory, data classification, data retention/deletion, and incident response, etc., to ensure scalable, mature, and compliant privacy and data protection practices.

In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.
We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative Privacy Awareness and Enablement Specialist to join the Privacy & Integrated Security team. This is a strategic and mission-oriented role focused on bridging the gap between privacy policies and their practical application within our operational environment. The primary mission is to connect existing training resources, identify training gaps and build awareness, ultimately improving our privacy posture and fostering a culture that meaningfully engages privacy principles at all stages.
The ideal candidate will be an important resource for our US operational teams. By leveraging existing and new privacy training, communications, and policies, you will ensure our teams not only understand their privacy obligations but are also enabled to execute them effectively in their daily work. This role acts as a champion for privacy in TikTok US, directly contributing to our program's impact and long-term success.
Reporting Structure:
This role will report to the functional pillar lead within the privacy organization.

- Conduct formal and informal needs assessments (e.g., surveys, interviews, and work groups) to identify the specific privacy training and awareness gaps within our operational and business teams.

- Catalog existing content and maintain a knowledge base to serve as a single source of truth for privacy training and awareness.
- Proactively identify and leverage relevant privacy training modules and communication assets from existing extensive libraries. Adapt existing resources for USDS audience.
- Translate complex, technical privacy principles and policies into clear, business-friendly language.
- Develop regional case studies and scenarios that illustrate key privacy concepts in a relatable operational context.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholdersto create practical training that addresses real-world, regional challenges.
- Serve as the formal point of contact for global privacy training, communications, and policy teams. Provide direct, constructive feedback to global teams on how content can be adapted to better meet USDS needs.
- Advocate for USDS training needs and propose joint development projects to create new content that is mutually beneficial to USDS and global
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of all USDS privacy communications and training, including managing a communications calendar and scheduling training sessions.
- Deliver engaging and impactful presentations and workshops to a diverse range of regional stakeholders, from individual contributors to leadership.
- Track key metrics (e.g., training completion rates, feedback scores) to measure the effectiveness of the program and provide regular reports to leadership.
- Act as a USDS's champion for a privacy-aware culture, promoting best practices and fostering a proactive mindset toward privacy protection.
- Engagement in special projects and additional responsibilities may be needed as the team expands and capabilities are enhanced. As our organization and privacy program continue to grow, this role is designed to evolve. The strong foundation you'll build in stakeholder management, project delivery, and programmatic oversight will provide paths to roles in program management or as a privacy subject matter expert. In this capacity, you would leverage your deep understanding of USDS needs and processes to manage and support more comprehensive aspects of the privacy program.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Law, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of experience in a communications, training, or project management role, with a strong focus on program delivery and stakeholder engagement.
- Exceptional written and communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects from end to end and work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Foundational knowledge of key privacy concepts and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Must be adaptable and able to navigate through ambiguity and vagueness within a large complex organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), such as: CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT or other relevant certifications, such as: CDPSE, CDPO, PLS
- Experience in a communications or training role within a large organization with centralized privacy governance.
- Proven track record of building and delivering effective training or communications programs.
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $98800 - $196000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
