Machine Learning Engineer - USDS

Responsibilities

Team Intro:
TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video. Our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. U.S. Data Security ("USDS") is a subsidiary of TikTok in the U.S.

In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.

Responsibilities:
- Design and build machine learning solutions to support various AI features;
- Improve modeling infrastructures, labels, features and algorithms towards robustness, automation and generalization, reduce modeling and operational load;
- Run experiments to evaluate and debug models in production environments;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring of ML systems, uplevel machine learning excellence with large-scale data;

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor or above degree in computer science, statistics, or other relevant, machine-learning-heavy majors;
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience in machine learning;
- Strong machine learning background. Proficiency or publications in modern machine learning theories and applications, with at least one deep learning framework experience (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow);
- Solid engineering skills. Proficiency in at least two of: Linux, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Storm;
- Ability to think critically, objectively, rationally. Reason and communicate in result-oriented, data-driven manner. High autonomy.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master or above degree in computer science, statistics, or other relevant, machine-learning-heavy majors;
- Industrial experience with large-scale production environments or high-growth tech companies;

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $136800 - $359720 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
