Responsibilities
About the Team
The Livestream Team designs and implements policies for live streaming to ensure a high-quality, diverse, and engaging content experience. We are responsible for building a secure and thriving real-time interaction space that benefits both users and creators. Our work involves establishing clear guidelines to minimize problematic content, identify emerging risks, and defend against bad-faith actors, all while maintaining transparency and defensibility in our policy decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding of business models and risks: Understand the LIVE business model, evaluate existing and emerging risks generally on content safety and specifically to LIVE monetization and traffic ecosystem. Conduct regular reviews of existing policies to identify and address gaps and ambiguities.
- Research expert: Pioneer and research on leading LLM ideals and practices in the industry and academic field. Leverage resources to help internal teams better understand major industry solutions. Identify the most feasible solutions for TikTok LIVE, and build up a defencible approach for internal and external communication.
- AI driven governance: Have a strong mindset of AI-based moderation and human-based moderation. Drive TikTok LIVE monetization and ecosystem governance objectives leveraging both AI and human and collaborate efforts with algo, product and moderation efforts accordingly.
- Safety prioritization: Lead LIVE safety efforts in the fast changing business, and identify strategic policy priorities amidst a rapidly changing technological and societal landscape. Create clear policy principles and frameworks that consider a variety of internal and external inputs.
- XFN Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams such as Communications, Public Policy, Legal, Product, Algo and Trust & Safety teams to clearly communicate product design decisions and product policies. Educate and align internal and stakeholders around our policies.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Policy, Business Administration, Liberal Arts or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- More than 5 years of experience in LLM, safety, policy development, strategy, product policy roles or a related role in the tech/media space.

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $125400 - $235980 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
