Lead Safety Program Manager, Trust & Safety - USDS
Responsibilities
We are seeking a Lead Safety Program Manager to join the Trust and Safety team. As a Lead Safety Program Manager, you will lead a team of Safety Program Managers and report to the Head T&S Programs, developing and driving impact across core operational priorities and cross-functional initiatives. You will take ownership of complex T&S programs so as to uphold our commitment to keep our online community safe, working closely across a broad range of disciplines, including Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, Legal, Operations, Customer Support, and Rapid Response teams.
In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Safety Program Managers who are responsible for ensuring operational support of critical business priorities across T&S operational workflows.
- Develop success metric frameworks that quantify the impact of safety program management and enable optimal operational agility.
- Align on shared goals and dependencies with product management and product operations leads who are responsible for securely deploying effective safety strategies into the USDS environment.
- Articulate complex Trust & Safety strategies in a clear and cohesive manner and align technical and non-technical stakeholders, across many disciplines and diverse regions/work cultures, behind them.
- Manage executive leadership communications and reporting, distilling critical updates on safety programs status, risks/issues, business impact, and recommendations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree with advanced experience in cross-functional program management; 5 years of people management in a program management organization
- Relevant experience working in Trust and Safety
- Proven ownership and accountability in driving and overseeing multiple complex and cross-functional technical programs from initiation to delivery at scale
- Detailed analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems and datasets
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and thought leadership, and capacity to adapt and thrive in fast-paced work environments with rapidly shifting landscapes and priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of the landscape and new policy developments in new media, tech, and the entertainment industry
- Familiarity with human moderation and machine learning for removing harmful content
- Your ability to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges of the role.
- Your resilience and commitment to self-care to manage the emotional demands of the role.
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $147000 - $270000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
