About the Team
TikTok USDS is seeking a highly motivated Security Engineer to join the Insider Risk program. You will work within the Operations function of our Insider Risk program to onboard large datasets into data analysis platforms, create adhoc methods for large-scale data analysis, build detections for Insider Risk use cases, and increase collaboration across internal partners.
In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Insider Risk Operations Analysts to develop and tune data sets and analytical models to enhance detection capabilities and analysis workflows
- Provide large-scale data analytical support to Investigations teams
- Maintain systems to facilitate the analysis of alerts and events, integrate data sources, clean data and develop associated analytical models
- Support Insider Risk Operations Analysts with alert review, tuning, and reporting
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Provide guidance and thought leadership to insider risk analysts performing monitoring, threat hunting, and predictive modeling functions
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, information security, or like discipline from an accredited college or university or measurable knowledge/experience from proven industry, military, defense, or government operations.
- 5+ years experience in Data Science, Digital Forensics, Insider Risk, Security Operations or Technical Investigations role
- Experience working in an operational environment
- Experience using security analytics platforms such as Splunk or similar log aggregation and analysis tool
- Experience writing Golang, bash, Python, and SQL queries
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) along with teamwork and collaboration per global and multi-functional teams and intelligence source groups
- Experience with Forcepoint DLP
- Demonstrates expert time management and prioritization skills
- Highly motivated to contribute and grow within a complex area of emerging importance in an enterprise environment
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $118800 - $269800 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
