E-commerce's Governance and Experience is a global team responsible for ensuring our marketplace is safe and trustworthy for not only users, but also sellers and creators. We value user satisfaction and work on policies, rules and systems to ensure quality. The Industry and Regulatory Relations function within the Governance and Experience team is committed to engaging relevant stakeholders, including industry associations and government agencies, to influence policy decisions, navigate regulatory frameworks, and promote TikTok Shop's interests.
We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled Industry Group Relations Manager to join our Industry Relations and Regulatory Partnerships team at TikTok Shop. You will partner closely with our Governance and Experience, Brand Protection, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and other cross functional teams to establish strong working relationships with e-commerce industry focused groups, and drive a positive narrative about our efforts to maintain a safe e-commerce environment. In this pivotal role, you will lead the establishment, development, and maintenance of relationships with key leaders within third party organizations and other industry groups on issues such as intellectual property protection (counterfeit, trademark, copyright), product safety, and consumer safety.

What You'll Do
- Play a vital role in driving third party e-commerce group engagement strategy, emphasizing proactive collaboration and partnership with leading product safety, and consumer protection organizations.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with industry associations and government partners influential in the development of e-commerce regulation and legislation.
- Partner closely with Legal, the Brand Protection team, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and other internal stakeholders to analyze and assess risks and impacts of industry efforts impacting e-commerce regulation and legislation.
- Represent TikTok Shop and advocate for the company's positions in external forums, including industry discussions, conferences, and industry engagements to enhance trust in our brand and marketplace.
- Partner with internal cross functional teams to drive consistency in our external processes and narrative across TikTok and TikTok Shop and effectively communicate industry developments to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate industry perspectives and considerations into government relations and business strategies. Contribute to the development of company policies and positions on regulatory and industry matters.
- Research and analyze industry regulatory developments, policy, and related trends. Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging issues impacting e-commerce.
- Educate Public Policy colleagues at the US federal and state level on industry proposals impacting e-commerce and the company. Support advocacy efforts on legislative proposals.
- Draft memos, presentations, talking points and other materials for leaders on the Industry Relations and Regulatory Partnership team and other leaders within the Public Policy team.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Experience working in relevant fields, such as government affairs/relations, trade associations, third party organizations, regulatory, or governmental bodies.
- Demonstrated experience in consumer safety, product safety, intellectual property, or related issues.
- Proven track record of successfully managing third party organizations and leading engagements with industry groups. Ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration, communication, teamwork and project management skills, with a proven record of success

- Experience with E-commerce public policy issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, ever changing environment.

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $150400 - $266000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
