The Team
TikTok's Content and Safety Compliance team is key requirement of TikTok's compliance with the Digital Services Act and will evolve to include monitoring compliance with other similar laws, such as the Online Safety Bill in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a team to support TikTok's compliance with European content and safety regulatory requirements.
- Translate regulatory requirements into compliance strategies, policies and documentation.
- Devise standards and drive alignment to ensure requirements are operationalised with robust controls.
- Partner with the business to drive compliance, providing support, training and advice.
- Track and manage status of compliance programme; setting goals and milestones to determine level of assurance.

- Advise management and report to leadership groups on the level of maturity; escalate compliance gaps and issues, proposing potential solutions where possible.
- Track and advise on operational incidents and remediations; monitor issues and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Act as the DSA compliance officer, fulfilling the role pursuant to the DSA.
- Fulfil the internal monitoring and assurance role for the Online Safety Act (OSA), implementing a pragmatic and robust plan, collaborating with first line risk and Internal Audit colleagues.
- Devise and implement a proportionate and risk-based monitoring programme over content regulatory regimes and in-scope codes of conduct.
- Provide oversight and advice on annual and ad hoc risk assessments and risk-mitigation measures, supporting their integration in to compliance planning.
- Provide advice and training on the regulatory requirements to management and the business.
- Cooperate with the regulators in conjunction with Legal and GR colleagues.
- Manage relationship with TikTok's external DSA auditor; programme manage the audit with support from business teams.
- Cooperate and partner with risk and internal audit to achieve robust 3LOD model, with clear accountability and control ownership.
- Develop and embed a strategic approach to compliance and advise and support the business to achieve robust compliance and an effective risk management strategy.
- Lead and encourage the development of a compliance culture.
- Play a key role on content and safety governance committees/forums providing oversight and challenge on regulatory risk and compliance.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and professional qualification in law, finance, compliance, accounting/audit or similar discipline.
- 15+ years compliance experience with 5+ in a regulated entity/environment.
- Strong experience in assurance, controls and hands on experience of management of audits.
- Track record of building trust with regulators and strong working relationships with business teams.
- Previous team management experience.
- Highly collaborative and strong influencing skills.
- Have outstanding communication skills that allow you to interact with a wide variety of individuals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of platforms and good knowledge of relevant legislative landscape.
- Be a team player, be adaptable and willing to partner with teams from across the business.
