About the Team:
Our Global Legal Compliance team provides key support for all of ByteDance's and TikTok's innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global markets. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal and compliance guidance and support. The ByteDance and TikTok team are growing fast and is seeking a highly experienced, bright, and capable legal/compliance specialist to join us.

Responsibilities:
- Help drive and support global financial crimes compliance, risk identification, and compliance strategy as a key member of the AML/Sanctions team.
- Conduct or assist in periodic risk assessments to identify gaps and to improve the compliance programs, processes, and procedures.

- Ensure coordination with regional compliance teams to adopt regional programs or guidelines, if needed.
- Lead and support innovative efforts that integrate data analytics into the AML/sanctions compliance program.
- Collaborate with internal tech teams to identify, process, and organize a variety of compliance data sets.
- Transform data and metrics into compliance data visualizations for review and consumption of target audiences; develop metrics for a compliance dashboard; analyze and document trends in compliance activities and relevant data to measure effectiveness of the compliance programs. Expand data analysis to compliance training data.
- Assist with the coordination of regional compliance investigations to ensure appropriate data management, consistent investigative approach, remediation, and disciplinary action matrix.
- Work collaboratively with regional compliance teams, compliance centers of excellence (COEs), regional legal teams, Internal Audit, cross-functional stakeholders, and business units in the development and advancement of the compliance program mission.
- Manage and participate in cross-functional compliance projects, offering data expertise to enhance ByteDance's multiple compliance frameworks.
- Provide ad hoc support and guidance to other teams as needed, ensuring continued adherence to AML, sanctions and ABAC laws and internal policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in a related field.
-Strong understanding and practical application of financial crime regulations (AML, sanctions, anti-bribery/corruption), with experience handling complex compliance issues and investigations, including reviewing large data sets and escalating suspicious activities.
-Proficient in analyzing compliance data, developing dashboards, and translating insights into actionable recommendations using tools like SQL, Tableau, and Power BI.
-Excellent project management skills, experienced in leading or supporting cross-functional initiatives across multiple regions or business units.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Willingness to engage in global meetings across time zones and travel as necessary.
-Possesses the highest ethical standards, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and implement new skills.

-Works effectively in a fast-paced environment, showing flexibility, teamwork, and adaptability to meet client needs, while anticipating and responding to urgent situations.
-Manages heavy workloads and meets critical deadlines with minimal supervision.
-Proactively identifies and resolves problems, taking the lead on issues and recommending process improvements.
-Possesses an in-depth understanding of client business, industry, and organization, supporting the delivery of products, services, and initiatives.
-Capable of redirecting issues to appropriate resources.
-Demonstrates creativity in finding solutions and uses sound judgment.
-Able to influence and enlist support, with multilingual capabilities being a strong plus.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $128000 - $240667 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
