The International Short Video User Growth (UG) team is responsible for driving growth for ByteDance's products. We assist products in developing tailored growth strategies and utilize a variety of marketing, product, and data analysis techniques to achieve business growth objectives. The UG team maintains and optimizes a range of established growth solutions, such as paid advertising and organic acquisition, skillfully applying them across diverse business contexts to fuel growth. Concurrently, when new growth opportunities emerge, we build innovative solutions to help businesses achieve breakthroughs. Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May/June 2025. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship start dates below:

We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit to these start dates. Please state your availability clearly in your resume (Start date, End date).

Responsibilities
Participate in the development and optimization of user long-term value (LTV) models and other user behavior prediction models.
Utilize machine learning, deep learning, and other techniques for data mining to enhance user profiling and behavioral analysis.
Design A/B tests and other causal inference methodologies to evaluate model performance and drive the implementation of models within business applications.
Process and cleanse large-scale datasets, construct high-quality datasets, and improve overall data quality.
Collaborate with Product and Data Engineering teams to facilitate the implementation of data-driven decision-making processes.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Solid foundation in machine learning, with familiarity with common algorithms (e.g., Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, XGBoost). Practical modeling experience is preferred.
- Proficient in data analysis using Python, SQL, or R; skilled with libraries/tools such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability in data cleaning, feature engineering, model training, and optimization.
- Strong logical thinking skills, with the ability to identify problems from data and propose effective solutions.
