Team Intro
The US Security and Privacy Operations - Data Protection Incident Responder will report to the USDS Resiliency Operations Center Lead. This position is responsible for managing incidents that are escalated from business units to investigate, coordinate cross-functional triage and mitigation activities, remediation coordination and tracking, reporting and communication, and escalate to the Enterprise Incident Response Lead if the incident reaches a crisis threshold.
In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.

Responsibilities
- Ensure incident response processes are executed to support incident remediation activities, communications, and connection to crisis management if necessary.
- Communicate incident response concepts and protocols in a digestible manner to non-technical audiences.
- Supports tracking/maintenance/advancement/executiton of USDS Incident Response projects.
- Active participation in incident response activities and escalation to crisis as needed.
- Know incident response plans and procedures, including identification, remediation, containment, and eradication procedures.
- Know Crisis Management Plans and procedures, thresholds, and execute activation procedures.
- Synthesize technical details of critical incidents to executive management and provide immediate containment and eradication recommendations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors' Degree or industry equivalent work experience in CyberSecurity, emergency management, or crisis management with a focus on security analytics and incident response along with 3+ years experience in incident management operations, crisis management planning, and/or exercises as well as identifying and responding to threats and threat actors.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written)& collaboration skills, and ability to influence without authority.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, in particular in leading or contributing to global and multi-functional teams along with demonstrated time management, problem-solving, effort prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
- Work well under pressure and within constraints to solve problems and meet objectives with Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and cross-functional expertise across multiple IT operational and security disciplines.
- Experience in emergency operations, planning, and/or exercises, including program design and implementation.
- Strong project management skills and thought leadership.
- Coordinating high-profile, complex incident situations.

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $93860 - $166200 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
