About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing our data storage and data ETL pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross-functional teams. You will support our software developers, data analysts, and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.
What You'll Do
1. Construct, maintain, and test architectures, such as databases and large-scale processing systems;
2. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc;
3. Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources;
4. Work with stakeholders including the PMs, Data Scientists, and Machine Learning Engineer teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs;
5. Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field;
2. 2-4 years of experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.(Hadoop, M/R, Hive, Spark, Metastore, Presto, Flume, Kafka, ClickHouse, Flink etc.);
3. Experience with ETL (Extraction, Transformation & Loading) and architecting data systems;
4. Experience with schema design and data modeling, performing data analysis, data ingestion and data integration;
5. Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment;
6. Advanced English with excellent communications skills; able to communicate analytical and technical content in an easy to understand way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred:
1. Experience in CI/CD such as git and cloud services such as AWS/GCP/Azure will be highly desirable;
2. Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to desegregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions.
