U.S. Data Security ("USDS") is a standalone department of TikTok in the U.S. This new security-first division was created to bring heightened focus and governance to our data protection policies and content assurance protocols to keep U.S. users safe. About the Team
Our Global Security function provides services to TikTok's US market using four principles that guide our strategic and tactical operations. First, we champion trust and transparency, leading the charge in organizational transparency and execution of security and privacy capabilities that drive customer trust. Second, we are a business catalyst and enabler, embodying the DNA of technical innovation. Third, we drive risk-informed and empowered decision-making, giving our business leaders the information needed to make key decisions. Finally, we proactively identify and reduce risk while enabling innovative product development - to consistently build sustainable world-class and trusted security capabilities.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Security Analyst, you will be a member of TikTok's US Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC) team. You will belong to a team of strong people, processes, and technologies with the overarching goal of detecting and responding to threats targeting TikTok's US operations and infrastructure.
Some of the day to day tasks for a shift lead include the following:
1. Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and SIEM.
2. Assist in triaging and prioritizing security incidents based on severity and potential impact.
3. Analyze logs and data from various sources to identify potential security threats and anomalies.
4. Assist in correlating events to gain a more comprehensive view of potential security incidents.
5. Provide support during incident response activities, working alongside senior analysts and other teams.
6. Assist in documenting incident details and actions taken during the response process.
7. Help fine-tune alerting rules and policies.
8. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, sharing knowledge and expertise.
9. Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
10. Assist in documenting incidents in detail, ensuring that incident records are accurate and complete.

Qualifications

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or equivalent information security, privacy, risk, compliance, project management or like discipline from an accredited college or university or measurable knowledge / experience from proven industry, military, defense, or government operations.

Minimum Qualifications
- At least 2-4 years of experience handling security-related incidents
- Experience with identifying and responding to threats, both internal and external
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), ability to influence without authority.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, in particular in leading or contributing to global and multi-functional teams.
- Demonstrated time management, problem-solving, effort prioritization and interpersonal skills
- Work well under pressure and within constraints to solve problems and meet objectives
- Familiarity with industry-standard frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK)
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and cross-functional expertise across multiple IT operational and security disciplines
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff
- Must possess a high degree of integrity, be trustworthy, and have the ability to lead and inspire change
Preferred Qualifications
- GIAC Certifications (such as GCIA, GCIH etc.) or applicable experience in the Information Security field
- One or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Java, Python, etc.)
- SQL - Experience writing and executing SQL queries
- Familiarity with static/dynamic malware analysis
- Familiarity with digital forensics and incident response concepts and procedures
- Strong Operating System Administration skills including conceptual knowledge of OS internals and experience with core service types
- Experience in cloud-hosted environments
- Experience with UNIX/Linux and Windows environments
