About the Team
The Global Payments team provides payment solutions to ensure that users have a smooth and secure payment experience across our platforms and services.

We are seeking a CFO for Brazil to assume responsibility for establishing the Global Payment Brazil finance function from the ground up, building a robust framework for financial management, which includes accounting, treasury, reporting and tax in compliance with regional and group guidelines. The successful candidate will be a highly driven, focused individual that can work well with cross border colleagues and cross functional teams, as well as assist with the management and ownership of end-to-end operational processes. This is a hands-on role with a small and committed team who are poised for significant growth in the short term. This role is based in Sao Paulo, Brazil (must be Brazilian resident).

Responsibilities
- Oversee the finance function for the Global Payment Brazil payments entity and ensure finance processes operate effectively and accurately delivering accurate financial insights into the business
- Create, review and assess relevant policies, procedures, methodologies and frameworks, in preparation for a license application.
- Implement and monitor the safeguarding of customers funds in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and oversee reconciliation process and procedures;
- Be responsible for the statutory and regulatory reporting process of the licensed entity.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and management team, leveraging financial analysis and insights to drive informed decision-making
- Partner up with group accounting, treasury and finance teams to periodically review and update major policies and estimates
- Prepare financial statements and other related information for external use (audit, submission to regulators, etc.), and play a leading role in external communication as the representative of the Finance department
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and other relevant regulations
- Manages relationships with banking partners, external auditors, and other global finance colleagues
- Serve as the Global Payment Brazil entity legal representative in Brazil, ensuring compliance and facilitating operations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Significant experience in payment, fintech, bank or regulated financial services.
- In-depth knowledge of payment landscape.
- Familiarity with regulatory licensing application processes and knowledge of how to create financial capabilities to support a licensed entity in BR (treasury, accounting and reporting).
- Familiar with payment-related financial compliance, risk, financial services regulations, and industry standards applicable to fintech businesses.
- Excellent team player, strong stress tolerance, data driven and good at result-oriented thinking, able to support cross-time zone, cross-functional team, multi-task parallel work atmosphere;
- Excellent communication skills; fluency in English.
- Bachelor degree or above.

Preferred Qualifications
- Having worked in a tech environment with a proven track record in developing and launching regulated financial businesses in Brazil from the ground up.
- Highly adaptable and comfortable working in a varied and multi-cultural environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive, hands-on and able to work autonomously if required.
