Also known as "GSO", this team is the foundation of our efforts to keep TikTok safe, secure, and operating at scale for over 1 billion people around the world. The Global Security Organization is hiring an Influence Operations Analyst to join the Threat Management, Incident Response, and Investigations pillar working on proactive detection and intelligence production related to covert influence operations on the platform.
- You will use your leadership skills and investigative and adversarial mindset to help us prevent, identify, detect, and mitigate influence operation (IO) networks and inauthentic engagement on TikTok and flag emerging areas of risk for cross functional teams
- You will author, disseminate and brief stakeholders on emerging trends, manage incidents, lead a team of IO analysts, and perform social network analysis at scale to discover, identify, and mitigate the most harmful threats targeting the platform
- Lead the synchronized assessment of threat actors' non-kinetic capabilities to wage IO, fuel propaganda and psychological operations, and disseminate disinformation to shape public opinion for sociopolitical and socioeconomic events and topics
- Conduct regular large scale data analysis and intelligence collection utilizing OSINT tradecraft
- Contribute to the broader CIO workflow across teams working on intelligence, investigation, and policy
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience leading analysts in the production of intelligence related to influence operations, disinformation, and online manipulation
- Experience briefing stakeholders on relevant risks posed by emerging trends, themes, and narratives related to potential influence operation activity
- Experience conducting Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) for the purpose of counter disinformation or counter influence operations requirements
- Experience utilizing OSINT tools for social media listening and network analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in long-form investigations or research related to influence operations or disinformation
- Proficiency in a regional language (i.e. Spanish, French, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese) to conduct multi-lingual analysis in the Rest of World region
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $118800 - $196000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
