Tech Lead Infrastructure

TIAA is seeking a Platform Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with in depth understanding of Security protocols such as Oauth and OpenID. Individual is expected to have background on the Ping Identity product suite (i.e. Ping Federate, Ping Access, Ping Data Directory) facilitating Single Sign on (SSO) capabilities for the enterprise.  This role will partner closely with Ping product development team to design solutions that automate the complete management of this platform. This candidate is expected to be vigilant in their effort to identify and act on opportunities for efficiencies through automation. Additionally, candidate should have knowledge of Java based application hosting technologies such as WebLogic, TomCat, Websphere and HTTP Webserver platforms such as Apache and Nginx.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Facilitate Client SSO integration supporting onboarding

  • Troubleshoot PING related issues

  • Work with application teams to establish best practices for Ping onboarding and integration

  • Develop and maintain system deployment automation processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale and monitor their applications

  • Build, configure and manage tools for fast and reliable deployments of software utilize CI/CD pipelines

  • Integrate infrastructure monitoring documenting Level 1, 2, 3 support criteria/responsibilities.

  • Identify repeatable issues and design solutions to mitigate resolve any issues while running in production

  • Plan, install and test new software releases, server automation, system upgrades, and resolve software related problems for both development and production enterprise systems

  • Support multiple projects by troubleshooting application issues and assisting developers on infrastructure related issues

  • Write automation code as required supporting self-services for infrastructure and development teams, and help craft the direction and architecture of our systems

  • Create, update, and maintain documentation for procedures & policies as defined

  • Proactively detect problems related to Infrastructure services, operations and delivery services, conduct diagnostics, and provide service

  • Support and facilitate incident and problem management as required

  • Collaborate and assist other infrastructure teams and development staff with   application analysis, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting

  • Perform change management, configuration, design, and implementation of supported products and systems

  • Assist QA teams during load testing and for real time monitoring of all stages of application deployment

  • Provide hands-on service and infrastructure operations support to internal and external customers in accordance with the terms of the established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

  • Assess and evaluate opportunities for efficiencies designed to enhance productivity and reduce cost 

  • Drive adoption of our services across infrastructure and development teams. Establish feedback loop ensuring consumption aligns with stated objectives. 
     

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

  • 5+ years’ experience with Ping product Suite (Federate, Access, Directory, etc)
  • 5+ years’ experience enabling and managing Single Sign On (SSO) across internal and external entities
  • 5+ years’ experience in Oauth/OpenID concepts and use cases  

Preferred Skills

  • Troubleshoot PING related issues
  • Work with application teams to establish best practices for Ping onboarding and integration
  • Integrate infrastructure monitoring documenting Level 1, 2, 3 support criteria/responsibilities.
  • Experience/working knowledge with Oauth2, SAML, & IAM conceptsExperience with at least one major cloud provider (i.e. AWS, Azure or Google Platform

Potential Salary: $140,300.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
