This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA’s family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.
This role is located onsite at our TIAA office in Charlotte, NC, USA but will currently be remote.

Manages the research, development, integration and implementation of strategic and emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Developing a strategy for the development and deployment of new and emerging technologies for systems, applications, network infrastructure, hardware and databases.
- Reviewing and approving the acquisition of selected technologies, while monitoring the budget; facilitating communication, awareness and interaction among departments regarding new selected new technologies.
- Developing metrics to qualify and quantify criteria for success for new technologies within the business.
- Overseeing the integration of new technologies and ensuring selected technologies are consistent with business initiatives and technology architecture.

The Technical Lead conducts a development team for the enhancement and maintenance of a high volume transaction platform.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Upgrading applications to new and emerging technologies
- Reviewing project requirements and developing work schedules for the team
- Liaising with team members, management, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time
- Developing standards and coding best practices
- Performing troubleshooting as required
- Assisting with training and recruitment
- Integrating new technologies to current systems architecture
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years in information technology with at least 2 years in financial services
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Enterprise Systems Design & Architecture
- SDLC, Agile methodologies and Project Management
- Cybersecurity & Enterprise Security Practices
- Performance Testing experience
Technical Experience
- Strong Java/JEE application design and development experience
- Hands-on experience with ETL, Batch, and stored procedures
- Database, ERD and SQL (Oracle is a must)
- Web Service working experience (SOAP, REST, WSDL, XML, JSON)
- Message brokers and JMS (MQ, Kafka)
- Development tools (Eclipse, SOAPUI, JUNIT, etc.)
- Windows and Linux operating systems
- GitLab, or similar code management tools
- UI web development
- Tomcat, Docker & OpenShift
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
