  • Standard Operating Procedures: Tracks deviations from and modifications to existing SOPs in business operations. Reviews the efficiency of standard operating procedures in terms of performance improvement. Ensures compliance with industry standards, regulations and policies. Adjusts SOPs according to changes in organizational and industry procedures. Assists in establishing a standard operating procedure based on workflow and environment review.

  • Problem Solving: Develops alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information. Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution. Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives. Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder. Uses fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems.

  • Effective Communications: Delivers helpful feedback that focuses on behaviors without offending the recipient. Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work. Looks for and considers non-verbal cues from individuals and groups. Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness. Avoids technical jargon when inappropriate.

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Processes limited amounts of detailed information with good accuracy. Accurately gauges the impact and cost of errors, omissions, and oversights. Learns from mistakes and applies lessons learned. Utilizes specific approaches and tools for checking and cross-checking outputs. Develops and uses checklists to insure that information goes out error-free.

  • Investments: Reports major risk and regulatory considerations affecting the investments/financial services industry and markets. Assesses key concepts and characteristics of major assets and financial instruments (e.g., bonds, equities, etc.). Analyzes the key points of investment finance and accounting practices. Analyzes investment asset types, market linkages, and risks associated with other asset types and markets. Researches key investment and financial industry players and competitors.

  • Investment Operations Management: Implements routine investment operational procedures according to business cycles. Analyzes the effectiveness of investment operations and processes against policies and regulations. Applies time value and portfolio management techniques in investment operations and decision making. Communicates with appropriate financial intermediaries and legal agencies to get first hand information. Assists in analyzing the domestic and international capital market investment environment.

  • Investment Reporting: Uses organizational methods and procedures for investment report writing. Completes simple or complex investment reports using basic tools. Explains how investment reports support the dialogue between an organization and its clients. Utilizes the organization's investment report templates to create accurate reports. Assesses the accuracy of investment reports using appropriate tools and techniques.

  • Investment Consulting: Provides clients with ongoing service and communication through regular portfolio review statements. Participates in the design and implementation of small investment programs. Conducts research and analysis on clients' current portfolio performance and the economic environment. Communicates with customers on their investment goals and risk tolerance. Complies with relevant legislation (e.g. the Trustee Act) for investment consulting.

  • Portfolio Management: Applies the functions and features of portfolio management tools. Monitors returns on customer's commonly used portfolio instruments. Assists in collecting and preparing required portfolio management data. Selects appropriate vehicles for long-term investments. Participates in managing the investments of a specific type of customer.

  • Operations - Back Office: Implement operation workflow in accordance with specific business rules. Works in one or more 'back office' operations departments. Analyzes overall daily, weekly, monthly, and annual production requirements. Assesses the performance of tools and equipment used in a specific operations area. Explains major operations functions and their inter-relationships.

  • Fiduciary Responsibilities: Updates fiduciary reports and specifications for customers. Operates online transaction processing systems with regards to fiduciary responsibilities. Documents daily fiduciary responsibilities and shares key issues and considerations. Communicates with professionals to understand various customer requirements of fiduciary services. Applies commonly used tools for calculating and documenting fiduciary services.

  • Trust Operations Management: Utilizes appropriate financial intermediaries and legal agencies within the trust environment. Applies time value and portfolio management techniques in trust operations management. Implements routine trust operations practices according to banking business cycles. Performs trust operations processes in compliance with banking policies and regulations. Resolves basic problems related to trust operations in accordance with current market conditions.

  • Investment Performance Measurement: Documents organizational portfolio guidelines and benchmarks. Prepares measurement reports on portfolio operations for senior management. Participates in portfolio data analysis to evaluate returns. Conducts a review on portfolio return while adhering to performance measurement standards and processes. Assists in the interpretation and analysis of measurement results for the client's reference.

  • Partnership Accounting: Participates in maintaining partnership accounting records for a specific area of the business. Documents practices, standards, and procedures for maintaining and reporting partnership accounting. Resolves common accounting-related errors and problems. Utilizes basic tools to identify and gather the information necessary for preparing partnership accounting. Collects and prepares key tax-related documents and reports for partner(s).
