Sr Analyst, Investment Trade Settlements

The Senior Analyst, Investment Trade Settlements job assists in operational activities for the investment function, supporting the management of capital on behalf of pensions, endowments, corporate plan sponsors, and other institutional investors. Working under direct supervision, this job is responsible for performing operational processes pertinent to trade settlements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Executes and processes trade transactions, ensuring compliance with the organization's regulatory policies, procedures and standards.

  • Reviews that trade activity is confirmed and/or settled with counterparties.

  • Resolves routine trade settlement issues in a timely manner.

  • Performs maintenance of transaction records and documents and creates an archival system for easy retrieval.

    Currently, Nuveen has an opportunity for a Sr. Analyst to support their Investment Operations team. This position will provide support to the investment team to ensure effective trade life cycle; monitor vendors,  ensure service level agreements are being met,quality is being delivered; and collaborate on multiple projects simultaneously. In addition, will interface with various stakeholders across different business areas with the aim to reach consensus on requirements and solutions.

    The ideal candidate will have experience working in the middle office or investment operations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Monitor and control workflow for efficient trade lifecycle, risk mitigation and service levels
    • Provide oversight support to vendors for margin calls, escalations, issue resolution, daily asset segregation, reconciliations, monitoring excess collateral balances and reporting for derivatives and leverage
    • Work closely with Traders, Brokers and Custodians to ensure trades are recorded accurately, matched against the counterparty’s details, and recorded and settled in a timely manner by the custodian banks
    • Works closely with front and back-offices, portfolio management and IT in resolving system challenges
    • Focuses on complex processes and workflows to deliver process improvements and strategic initiatives
    • Collaborate on projects providing business requirements and performing User Acceptance Testing
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
    • Ensure and track controls including procedures and workflow documentation, audit requests and building metrics

    Qualifications:

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Math, Economics or related
    • One (1) year experience performing data analyses on business or financial data;
    • One (1) year experience with MS Office Suite
    • One (1) year experience working in the financial services industry, preferably in front or back-office
    • Ability to multitask and manage workload
    • Ability to work well with team members at all levels of management

    Potential Salary: $33.75 USD

    Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
