The Senior Developer programs and configures software to meet TIAA business needs. Under limited supervision, this job identifies and analyzes business software needs, writes complex code to optimize the performance and efficiency of the organization's IT platform/infrastructure and conducts testing to ensure programs are functioning properly. This job is considered a subject matter expert in the Applications Development & Support area.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Interprets written business requirements and technical specification documents to design and develop advanced technical solutions that meet business needs in financial industry.

• Collaborates with IT and Business partners to design, develop, and troubleshoot end to end technical solutions.

Performs complex coding to written technical specifications.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of Financial Services industry experience required.
• Experience developing software using the some of the following Microsoft C#.Net or Web applications.
• Experience with OO design and programming.
• Experience with TSQL and/or PLSQL programming.

PREFERRED

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Can collaborate with IT and business partners to design, develop, test, and troubleshoot end to end technical solutions.
• Experience managing and working with complex data environments.
• Experience with Agile and SDLC development methodologies using Jira
• Asset management development experience
• Knowledge of DevOps and code maintenance and implementation.
• Experience with batch and scripting languages and tools (Windows batch / PowerShell / Python)
• Proven record of delivering technology solutions within agreed upon timeframes
• Self-directed, self-starter; takes initiative and can work independently.
• Knowledge of fixed income products and business workflows (trading, portfolio management, and compliance)
• Prior experience with investment management applications like Investortools, Charles River, and Eagle.
• Experience supporting cloud based applications particularly AWS.
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies or No-SQL Databases.
• Exposure in at least one enterprise reporting application like Tableau or SSRS.
• ETL knowledge and related tools (datastage, SSIS, Informatica,…)
• Experience with service oriented architecture and building REST or SOAP based services.
• Understanding data warehouse principles and processes.
• Ability to write effective technical documentation for operational support.
• Experience with system migrations and integrations.

Potential Salary: $116,400.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
