Supplier Diversity & Supply Chain Sustainability
Reporting to the Head of Supplier Diversity & Supply Chain Sustainability, this role works across business lines to promote, manage, and enhance TIAA’s Supplier Diversity and Supply Chain Sustainability programs. This individual will lead the planning and project management activities promoting multiple Global Supplier Services initiatives.  Close collaboration is required with key stakeholders across the enterprise, Sustainability teams, Sourcing and Category management teams, as well as external suppliers and organizations.

• Develop expertise in ESG, UN SDG guidelines, government organizations, and applicable trade associations

• Establish benchmarks, baselines, goals and objectives that support the Supply Chain ESG mission and vision
• Work with stakeholders across the enterprise to develop a model for incorporating sustainability initiatives into the global supply chain
• Collaborate with category managers and sourcing teams to identify category-specific gaps and opportunities for improvement across the supply base
• Develop progress reports and insights for internal councils, committees, and executive leadership
• Assist in the completion of institutional RFP questionnaires

Supplier Diversity
 

Supplier Engagement

• Serves as a primary contact for current diverse supply base
• Organizes and executes annual plan for Diverse Supplier Academy
• Virtually connects with prospective suppliers monthly

SD Program Management, Marketing & Communications
• Facilitates internal/external communication plan for annual economic impact analysis
• Creates and delivers communications relative to program initiatives and SD events such as one-pagers, newsletters, event invitations, etc.
• Assists business partners across Nuveen and TIAA with identifying diverse suppliers for inclusion in solicitations
• Develops SD training, planning, and policy documents
• Prepares reports and presentations for Supplier Diversity Advisory Council and Steering Committee

Event Attendance & Management
• Supports, plans and implements outreach events
• Attends virtual/local minority & woman-owned program meetings, procurement/trade fairs, corporate supplier diversity networks, community-focused events, and other outreach activities
• Serves on related diversity committees where appropriate

 

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

  • 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred

This position can be located in Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; or New York, NY and may require business travel 25%.

Required qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience working in supplier diversity and/or sustainability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience working in supplier diversity and/or sustainability
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines, with a strong project-driven approach
  • Superior business or technical writing, proofreading and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Succinct and concise communication (verbal and written) including reports for executive audiences
  • Capability to identify improvements to existing programs and processes
  • Able to influence and engage both internally and externally; build and develop relationships with peers and suppliers to exchange feedback on service issues, identify and/or solve problems, assess needs, and/or achieve business results
  • Ally within the team, the enterprise and confident in partnership development outside of the organization

Potential Salary: $90,000.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
