Lead Business Systems Analyst
The Lead Business System Analyst oversees the analysis of business and information needs in order to design optimal systems solutions. Working with limited oversight, this job reviews that designed system solutions are appropriate for business needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture. This job is responsible for managing large projects and processes, while also coordinating efforts among the Business Systems team.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides solutions for IT and business management concerning the application of technology to business opportunities, planning and implementation of cross-functional applications.

  • Monitors feedback on the use of business applications, enhancing system productivity as needed.

  • Translates business requirements into application requirements, while working with all members of the team to execute the application successfully.

  • Reviews cost estimates of various system solutions and reviews project plans to provide input into decisions about prioritizing projects and allocating IT resources.

  • Monitors the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshooting problems, as necessary.

  • Coaches and sometimes delegates work to lower level professionals.

    Required Skills:

    • 7 years of business analyst experience within IT
    • 3+ years of experience in financial systems within the retirement, banking, securities and/or brokerage industry. Experience in Institutional retirement is highly preferred
    • Functional expertise in transaction and/or web-based business applications
    • Proficient in creating conceptual modeling deliverables such as wireframes, process models, and other diagrams to facilitate system design and compel client understanding
    • Experience leading and negotiating business solutions through collaborative discussions with business and IT partners
    • Proficient in writing and grooming user stories in Agile environment

    Preferred Skills:

    • Functional expertise with Retirement Recordkeeping or Annuity applications is preferred
    • SAFE Agile and Behavioral driven or Test Driven process knowledge and experience are preferred but not mandatory
    • Experience with requirements collaboration tools such as JIRA and JIRA Align
    • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in a cross functional environment
    • Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface, both written and verbally, with a wide variety of people

    Potential Salary: $135,100.00 USD

    Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
