Communications Associate

This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA’s family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties.  Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.

This role is located onsite at our TIAA office in Charlotte, NC but will currently be remote.

The anticipated term of this engagement will be 12 months. This term could be extended based on company business needs.

Position Summary:

The Associate Communications job assists with the implementation of employee communications policies and programs within the organization. Working under close supervision, this job utilizes a variety of communication tools to help drive employee engagement and ensure that employees understand the company's mission, strategy, policies and performance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Assists with developing a range of organization-wide and business line-specific materials electronically or through online technologies, e.g., PowerPoint presentations, memos, e-newsletters, Helps develop multi-channel communication materials to ensure employees are well-informed of internal programs and strategies
  • Drafts function-specific documents and ensures they are written appropriately for the targeted audience and comply with organization style guidelines
  • Creates communications aligned with the organization's internal communication strategy so that employees can rapidly identify, send, receive, and understand information
  • Supports internal project teams on approaches for effective employee communications
  • Seeks guidance from senior leaders regarding communications challenges that require more advanced knowledge

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in desktop publishing using Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Skills:

  • 1+ years’ experience in Graphic design or visual storytelling
  • University Degree preferred
