Thomson Reuters is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Service Management, Technology team. This role calls for an individual who is capable of analyzing customer problems of various complexity and assessing the scope of impact, while ensuring mitigation of customer impact of issues and execution of work arounds. Willingness to learn is an important aspect of this position.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Site Reliability Engineer, you will:

  • Identify options for problem resolution and initiates action
  • Engage others as appropriate and escalates as required
  • Liaise with various application development and content teams, customer service teams, and other software and hardware support teams.
  • Proactively monitor production and nonproduction environments and/or applications
  • Provide input for technical plans and solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and correlation of other system and/or application problems of high complexity.
  • Collaborate on project planning sessions with team members where there are projects within the scope of the support team.

The following are required for some positions but not all:

  • Develop, configure, or support tools for system monitoring and/or troubleshooting.
  • Develop software application modules using disciplined software development processes in order to fix a problem and to communicate the changes effectively.
  • Carry out unit testing and implements application modules they have developed or modified, ensuring application meets needs of client and business.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance of either mainframe or client/server applications or tools, depending upon projects with which previously have experience.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Site Reliability Engineer if your background includes:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a relevant role/position (DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Systems Administrator etc.)
  • Strong experience with Python
  • Proficiency with Datadog, PowerShell, Linux Command, Line (Bash)
  • Practical experience with Azure or AWS and Windows
  • Skilled in capacity analysis, troubleshooting, networking
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Experience with Cloud Automation is a plus
