Digital News Assistant Producer (12 Month Fixed-Term Contract)
Thomson Reuters is seeking a Digital News Assistant Producer to contribute to the Reuters Japan online team. You will be responsible for curating Reuters articles in Japanese and Japanese-subtitled Reuters news videos for a third-party news portal service such as Google News Showcase and social networking service handles such as YouTube and TikTok to compete in a highly competitive online news environment.
The successful candidate must have strong news judgement and the technical skills to handle curation and uploading tasks. Proficiency in written Japanese is also a must. You are also expected to work closely with online news team to maximise our audience outreach.

About the Role
In this opportunity as a Digital News Assistant Producer, you will:
- Curating Reuters news stories for our social media and news portal partners.
- Selecting and uploading articles and multimedia for major digital media customers of Reuters and various video platforms.
- Assisting and executing tasks pertaining to operation of jp.reuters.com.
- Data entry, distribution and other tasks as assigned by the Editorial news operation.
- Maintaining and updating administrative records and reports using MS Excel, including tracking metrics, creating spreadsheets, and performing data analysis to support the team's operations
- Additional duties as assigned
About You
You're a fit for the role of Digital News Assistant Producer if you have the following required qualifications:
- Have a background in news and journalism. Experience in newsroom is a plus
- Proficient in reading/writing Japanese. Ability to read and communicate in English
- Have experience of using various uploaders, and are familiar with SNS
- Be proficient in MS Excel, with the ability to create and manage spreadsheets, track data, and perform basic data analysis
- Be a team player
