We're looking for a Business Development Manager to join Reuters Events, a fast-growing conferencing and events business within Thomson Reuters. You'll play a critical role in partnering with clients and securing sponsorship packages on our global Healthcare portfolio of events. Here, you'll lead sales across the portfolio, partnering with some of the world's most renowned healthcare brands and selling a range of sponsorship packages on our thought leadership-led events, with a particular focus on the US market.
Reuters Events combines Reuters' globally trusted brand, scale and editorial excellence with a leading portfolio of B2B events. We provide content-led conferences for professionals in a variety of specialized industry sectors including energy, pharmaceutical, automotive, insurance, finance and legal (to name a few!) to complement our extensive, in-depth business media content. We exist to deliver strategic business intelligence and foster the relationships that safeguards success at leading organisations worldwide.
About the Role
As a Business Development Manager at Reuters Events you will:
- Work collaboratively with other executives across the Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare team to sell tailored sponsorship packages to a variety of global brands. You'll have a particular focus on selling across events within the Healthcare portfolio, with a significant market presence in the USA.
- Report to the Head of Sales for Healthcare and Pharma. As an individual contributor, you won't have management responsibility and will drive revenue across the healthcare portfolio as lead seller.
- Use your great command of the written word to both gauge what our clients actually need, communicating value propositions tailored to their business goals.
- Be curious around changes in business markets. We're looking for someone that enjoys learning how shifting market dynamics create challenges and opportunities for our clients, and how our events can help them navigate change.
- Work closely and collaborate with our Conference Production team to establish the best audiencesand maximize the success of our conferences and events.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Business Development Manager, if you have:
- Demonstrable experience in the events industry, with experience of selling sponsorship packages. If you have prior experience of working with clients in the Healthcare sector, please make this evident on your application.
- The desire to act as the lead seller on a growing, global portfolio of events. Reporting to the Head of Sales for Healthcare and Pharma, you'll act as an individual contributor, responsible for the growth of our healthcare events.
- Excellent communication skills. We're looking for someone who's comfortable representing the Reuters brand when engaging with other industry-leading businesses. You'll be comfortable crafting engaging copy and written value propositions whilst building relationships with global C-level executives.
- Demonstrable B2B sales and new business development experience, ideally in an events, conference-led or publishing setting.
- A collaborative attitude. We're team players at Reuters Events and are looking for someone who can succeed both individually and within a team-based environment.
- The desire to progress and develop your skills further. We have an excellent (uncapped!) commission scheme that rewards your achievements and are keen to grow and invest in our sales team.
- The ability to adapt to changes in markets and articulate potential solutions to a range of stakeholders over the phone, in person and on video calls.
