The Washington Post is seeking a Staff Product Manager to join our Content Experience Product team, reporting to the Director of Product for Content.

This role is focused on evolving how users engage with our journalism - across formats like text, video, and audio, and across platforms including web, app, and distributed channels. You'll help shape the user experience of how our stories are presented, consumed, and optimized for impact.
Success in this role requires a deep and meaningful partnership with our newsroom, working closely with editorial stakeholders to align product decisions with journalistic goals, audience needs, and platform strategy.

- Lead strategy and execution across initiatives that shape how our journalism is presented and experienced
- Partner closely with editorial stakeholders to understand goals, workflows, and opportunities for storytelling innovation
- Define and manage product roadmaps that improve content presentation, user engagement, and overall experience
- Drive product discovery and experimentation in collaboration with engineering, design, and newsroom teams
- Communicate vision, priorities, and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to product culture through mentorship, clear thinking, and a strong sense of ownership
- 5-7 years of product management experience, including ownership of consumer-facing digital products
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Media, Computer Science, Business, or related disciplines)
- Experience working in content or information-driven companies.
- Strong track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through launch and iteration
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with editorial and technical teams
- Ability to think strategically and make data-informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working at a media company or with audience-facing multimedia products such as video players, streaming platforms, etc.
- Familiarity working with generative AI technologies and incorporating them into user-facing product experiences
- Understanding of content packaging, distribution strategies, and engagement metrics

The salary range for this position is:
$131,500 - $219,100 Annual
The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
