What will you do?

As the field based TSS for Imaging and Detection instruments you will be responsible for selling microscopes (EVOS™), high content analysis instruments (CellInsight™), multimode plate readers (Varioskan™) and associated reagents.

You will collaborate with the field and inside sales team in the specified territory with, aiming to support our customers whilst increasing profits and market share for the Thermo Fisher Life Science Solution Group (LSG).

Activities will include, sales visits, demonstration of instruments, organization of scientific seminars, territory planning, supervising sales performance & accurate forecasting. As a TSS you will leverage product features, benefits and applications accompanied by selling and business skills, to optimally promote and sell company products and services, achieving the assigned territory sales plan.

Driving business development at assigned major customer call points to penetrate and grow current and new business will also be a part of your responsibilities.

The Sales Specialist will be recognized as a technical leader within the sales team that drives strategic objectives and adoption of new products.

Your responsibilities:

  • Achieve or exceed sales quota and objectives, while ensuring 100% customer satisfaction, by developing and implementing an effective territory business plan.
  • Provide accurate business forecasts for all the products in scope.
  • Establish solid working relationships with the local sales team and lateral functions (e.g. marketing, service, support, customer service). Train, enable and support sales representatives leveraging the full scale of Thermo Fisher Scientific's products.
  • Develop a deep technical knowledge of assigned products within the portfolio of responsibility, as well as strong understanding of the features and benefits of competition's products.
  • Organize and conduct technical seminars, evaluate, attend and support local trade shows and conferences whilst demonstrating flexibility to accommodate customer requirements.
  • Develop a knowledge of current and potential activities that may affect revenues. These include but are not limited to funding, market dynamics & end-user needs.
  • Maintain contact with existing customers to promote new products, close deals, and grow sales, as well as develop new prospects.
  • Attend all required sales meetings and training sessions, consequently implementing new skills gained.

How will you get here?

You are someone who has the ability to build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and life science customers, whilst positioning and selling relevant products across customer applications.

Ideally you will have the following skills and experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in Cell Biology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and industry/functional experience and a master or PhD degree in Cell Biology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field is preferred
  • At least three years of professional selling experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of microscopy and optics is required.
  • Experience in a large matrix organization is highly appreciated.
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel between 50%-75% in your territory
  • General computer proficiency and experience of the microsoft office package
  • Driving licence
