The Position

In the Applications and Connectivity software development team within the Service Innovation organization we develop services that bring value on top of our Electron Microscopes. A key element of our service portfolio is our remote operation and support service, for which we are looking for a Senior Product Owner to drive the development. This position requires someone who likes to take a self-propelling leading role, and is true networker with very good communication capabilities. You are expected to align well with colleagues from Marketing, Architects, Designers, R&D, Operations, Service Engineers and Customer Success Managers.

The team works in an agile environment where the SAFe and Scrum frameworks are applied. Together with your team members, you deliver services to our customers that helps them improve their operational efficiency and gain more control over their Electron Microscopes usage and health.

Key responsibilities include, but are not exclusively:

  • Handle and communicate transparently the product backlog and its dependencies. Customer centric approaches to writing the user stories is stimulated.
  • Translate customer, market and product requirements into meaningful development items, to bring services that delight our customers.
  • Continuously balance the introduction of new features with continuous improvement and maintenance.
  • Collect feedback about specific needs from collaborators and customers on a regular basis and use this information to drive continuous improvements for the services.
  • Support your teams happiness, a happy team is a winning strong team!
  • Active participation in SAFe rituals such as the PI planning event, we strive to continuously improve and expect our leading roles to help to drive these changes.
  • Ensure that the team implements the required analytics to measure the key project metrics to make informed decisions

Requirements:

The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary technical environment to address sophisticated problems. If you enjoy the development of valuable services and you have a keen eye towards customer needs, this is an excellent opportunity.

  • Typically requires at least 5+ years in a software product owner or similar role.
  • BSc or MSc in information technology, physics or other relevant background.
  • Experience or knowledge on remote services, connectivity, networking and/or security is a plus
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and product development processes.
  • Excellent communication and scope clarification skills.
  • Experience with a multisite and multidisciplinary environment.
  • Open to occasional global travel.
