Job Description

Summary

The Product Evaluation (PE) Scientist will be a part of the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Research Center. The selected candidate will be responsible for verification and validation of instrument control software and related applications that exist and newly developed.

You will be tasked to evaluate and test software products during the late Product Development stage through post-production to verify that they function according to specifications and standards. In this role, you will apply your MS, LCMS and analytical chemistry experience in both implementing established test protocols and in collaborating with Development Scientists and Engineers across sites to test brand-new chromatography and mass spectrometry software products.

Job description:

  • Participate in all phases of the product development from product definition to final release;
  • Work closely with multiple teams to ensure successful integration of software product in variety of environments and topologies;
  • Coordinate and perform end-to-end testing of Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry and LC-MS software solutions;
  • Act as the quality gatekeeper for large scale software programs involving multiple integrated components delivered from globally distributed development teams;
  • Communicate project status and issues to other functional teams, collaborators, and management;
  • Facilitate in the removal of roadblocks as they arise to ensure team efficiency;
  • Generate clear documentation and status reports.
  • Write and complete test cases for integration, compatibility, and solution;
  • Participate in project planning and progress tracking.
  • Contribute to the timely delivery of the CMD software projects within budget;
  • Hands on work with entire range with Thermo Fisher Scientific Mass Spectrometers, chromatography systems and relevant accessories;
  • Performing regular laboratory and equipment maintenance.

Requirements:

  • BS/MS or PhD degree in Natural sciences or Engineering;
  • Minimum of 5+ years of laboratory experience using analytical instrumentation (LC, MS and/or LCMS). Hands-on experience on one or more separation techniques: HPLC, IC or Low Flow liquid chromatography;
  • Solid understanding of LC and MS instrumentation. Technical attitude, willingness to continue learning the operation principals of LC and mass spectrometry systems in detail;
  • Understanding and ability to apply statistical mathematics;
  • Ability to set-up experiments while solving issues in multicomponent environments and sophisticated topologies to outline the possible root cause;
  • Motivated, Driven, Autonomous work proficiency;
  • Decision making for quality results;
  • Provide technical direction and feedback;
  • Ability to work in a team and independently;
  • Proven experience and knowledge of software test methodologies;
  • Ability to present results in a public forum;

  • Familiarity with Quality System Regulation and FDA expectations for software and hardware validation is a advantage.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Lithuania is €34 700,00-€52 025,00.
