PPI Specialist I

Thermo Fisher Scientific is HIRING for our distribution center in Frederick, MD. Join our team and be a part of our Mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer!

Summary:

You will contribute to the development and implementation of the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) program at the site level. You will build on the strengths of company programs, while leading initiatives to discover opportunities for improvement.

  • Insightfully cultivate an action-biased culture of continuous improvement to improve critical metrics, in the areas of safety, customer, finance, people and quality.
  • Facilitates cross-functional teams to improve current processes onsite and communicates results/expectations
  • Monitors and reports key performance indicators, performs root cause analysis, implements action plans, and strives for continuous improvement
  • Processes data, creates presentations, and records results using Microsoft office programs
  • Work with the expanded team to develop/promote/standardize the PPI Business System further
  • Proactively collaborate with internal customers and peers to drive continuous improvement initiatives, using Lean and Six Sigma principles

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Science, or related field is preferred.

Experience

  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and/or current Good Documentation Practices (GDP) is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organization
  • A multidisciplinary problem solver who can look site-wide to integrate and streamline systems for optimal benefit.
  • Passion for driving improvement and leading change
  • Great communicator, including solid written, oral and presentation-giving skills.
  • Broad knowledge of multi-functional processes and financial business methods
  • High ethical standards to support a professional business code of conduct
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office suite
  • Effective written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
