2. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develops, interprets and implements financial concepts for financial planning and control. Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Gathers, analyses, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts. Performs economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements

3. Job Description

Forecast, track, and analyze revenue and P/L as well as preparing monthly/quarterly business review package as a financial analyst.
Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of variance.
Communicate with Commercial/Service Leader for financial performance.
Measure and find opportunities to improve financial performance.
Support preparing annual operating plan, monthly and mid-term forecasts, and long-term strategic plan.
Develop financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives.
Perform complex financial analysis to support management decision making process.
Liaise with Global division/Commercial/Finance and APAC Commercial/Finance teams.

Ad-hoc business performance reporting both locally and with the APJ team.

4. Qualification

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business related field

Thorough understanding in financial accounting.

Proficiency with data analysis, reporting and visualization tools such as MS Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, and Hyperion.

Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Keen attention to detail and ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

High learning agility and desire for continuous learning,

Good communication and interpersonal skill with team and other stakeholders.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Location: Tokyo, Mita office.

Reports To: FP&A Assistant Manager

Position Summary:

The position is to lead all FP&A activities for one of business divisions of Clinical Sequencing Division (CSD) in Thermo Fisher scientific in Japan with direct supervisor, FP&A assistant manager. As a business finance partner, the position will closely work with FP&A Assistant Manager and Commercial sales/ marketing team in Japan as well as global Finance counterparts for assigned business divisions and contributes to the business divisions' performance improvement by providing insightful financial analysis and support for execution.
