From technical accounting to budgeting and forecasting to planning and reporting, you will build relationships with internal and external audit teams as well as key business partners to drive sophisticated business decisions. You will have an opportunity to build strong organizational alliances to understand and mitigate risk, as well as capture opportunities and provide valuable support to all business partners.

Seeking a proficient Finance Manager member who will provide finance, accounting and decision support. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering timely and meaningful financial analysis and providing mentorship to achieve financial objectives. This role will implement accounting, controls and compliance procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. In addition, the position holder will provide valuable decision support, identify and recommend operational improvement opportunities, and support leadership in achieving of business objectives.

What will you do:

  • Partner with business / site leadership in driving business performance to meet short- and long-term objectives.
  • Implement reporting, budgeting, forecasting activities in support of the business.
  • Analyze financial and business performance against key business metrics and supervise pertinent financial highlights that will enable understanding of progress against strategic / business plan and budgets
  • Perform monthly closing activities including journal entries, accruals, reporting and analysis
  • Support internal and external audit requirements
  • Payroll review and treasury management
  • Drive continuous improvement and use systems to increase controls and efficiencies
  • Report into Protein Diagnostics HQ finance team
  • Management of the DACH finance team
  • Coordination of tax, VAT and legal filings with the German and Swiss authorities and resolution of tax issues as and when they arise
  • Provide commercial finance support to the business including during tenders, contract negotiations and pricing decisions
  • Where requested ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy and standard operating procedure; recommends changes to strengthen control environment



Work Experience

Education

  • Educated to degree level
  • Specialist accounting qualification equivalent to ACA/ACCA in the UK



Experience

  • Required: A minimum of 5 years of finance and accounting experience - leadership of a finance function
  • Desired: Experience in the Life Sciences industry and / or part of an international group



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proficient user of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis); experience with IFS ERP (or equivalent), PowerPoint, and Hyperion is desired
  • Working understanding of financial accounting standards and internal controls
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written
  • On site 3 or more days per week
