Credit & Collections Representative

Job Description

The Credit and Collections Rep is responsible for a variety of tasks to help maintain collections operations within the Accounting Team. They are an organized, efficient, and highly motivated individual with a passion for problem solving with a strong attention to detail. They should be able to perform task within a timely manner and should be able to prioritize administrative duties to support the accounting department as needed.

This role should exhibit Integrity and trustworthiness. They should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work with a team. This is a phenomenal opportunity for someone to join our growing company.

  • Provide payment information to customers and arrange payments for current and past due invoices.
  • Be able to research items that were misapplied, had billing errors/corrections, or duplication of payment.
  • Input invoices into customer portals when required.
  • Work cross-functionally with the Sales, Customer Service, and accounting teams to resolve any outstanding discrepancies blocking timely collection.
  • Assist customers in the proper use of credit memos on account balances.
  • Assist in Confirming monthly balances with intercompany partners. Review monthly intercompany netting to ensure proper recording of transactions.
  • Process daily sales invoices after shipment when needed.
  • Assist in researching unapplied payments and provide statements to customers.
  • Assist in assigning account numbers in system for new customers.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and maintain a working relationship with new & existing customers with a high degree of integrity.
  • Provide weekly aging reports to team, send invoices, and receipts to customers.
  • Accept other duties as needed.

Qualifications will include but may not be limited to:

  • Associates degree in Business or related field with 1+ years of experience.
  • A bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics GP, MS office and Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritize work, follow-up on commitments on a timely basis, adhere to guidelines set for them, and be a strong teammate.
