Location/Division Specific Information

Clinical Application Consultants (CAC) for Thermo Fisher Scientific's Clinical Sequencing Division (CSD) support NGS based CSD initiatives and priorities through activities that center around our growing customer base facilitating Application Consultancy to our leadin CSD solutions (mainly in Oncology), providing advice in order to implement our solutions into daily testing, product training, pre-sales activities (demos, workshops, seminars) and other field activities to drive CSD business. The position is based in France remotely to cover South of Paris region.

This position involves providing training, consultancy, application support and troubleshooting to our customers mainly in oncology-related NGS clinical diagnostics.

A day in the Life:

  • Support clinical market on the operation of Thermo Fisher Scientific / Ion Torrent Next-Generation Sequencing product portfolio with focus on oncology
  • Provide scientific application support & training support to our clinical customers
  • Implement assays, products & clinical solutions within customer sites
  • Lead customer critical issues efficiently through in-depth troubleshooting
  • Support sales in the achievement of the regional sales target by delivering product line specific pre- and post-sales related customer support activities Example 1
  • Centralize every aspect of the support for each customer.
  • Be involve in the business development on the territory.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • MSc and/or PhD preferred (or equivalent experience in science) in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Life Sciences or similar.

Experience

  • Hands-on experience with Next-Generation Sequencing technology is required.
  • Experience in communicating technical materials in written and verbal form.
  • Previous experience in a support / training-related position is desired not required.
  • Customer-facing experience is desired not required.
  • Strong communications and communicating skills are important

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to connect with and support efficiently people with varying levels of technical knowledge and expertise
  • Emotional intelligence to understand customer concerns
  • Strong commercial demeanor is crucial
  • Independent and autonomus.
  • Teammate able to collaborate with different internal and external partners
  • Analytical mind with strong ability to troubleshoot technical problems
  • Good computer and IT skills with interest for groundbreaking technologies
  • Project management around specific development for customer applications.
  • Organisational knowledges cross team.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Willingness to travel within territory South France(estimated 35%)
  • Proficient in English other languages are a plus.
