CDSD Ops Finance CS Manager manages a team of analysts who provide support on analysis and reporting on commercial contracts and who work cross-functionally with Clinical Development Services Division (CDSD) operations, Commercial and Ops Finance to support in resolving issues. Ensures on time, accurate, quality, and consistent product delivery (SLAs).

  • Oversees team's daily activity including allocation and workload management triage.
  • Ensures adequate communication of processes between analysts and operations staff. Trains analysts on procedures as required.
  • Reviews reports for accuracy and ensures reporting deadlines are met.
  • Maintains and reviews general processes and systems queries and escalations.
  • Manages staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, skills assessment, identification of training gaps, performance management, goal setting, coaching, and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations.
  • Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations. Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime.

Policy & Strategy: Administers and executes policies, processes, and procedures that affect subordinate employees and the workflow of the unit. Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.

Freedom to Act: Administers and executes policies, processes, and procedures that affect subordinate employees and the workflow of the unit. Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.

Liaison: Interacts internally primarily with subordinates and other supervisors. Primary purpose of liaison is information sharing and basic problem resolution.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic qualification. A professional accounting qualification - ACCA / CPA / CIMA or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 3 years) or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, & experience. 1+ year of leadership responsibility
  • In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in problem solving and prioritizing.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and partner to internal clients.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting/financial principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills and ability to handle data effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach and mentor staff.
  • Ability to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency.
  • Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple activities.
  • Ability to perform under pressure. Ability to multi-task.

Management Role: Directly supervises individual contributors, administrative support and / or entry-level professionals.

  • Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.
  • Varied hours may be required, including a shift change for a few hours overlap with UK/US time-zone on month-end.
  • Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.
