About the Role
Under the direction of the Collections Supervisor and Division Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring the accounts receivable for tenant accounts. Responsible for maintaining contacts with line and staff departments personal to resolve delinquent accounts in a timely basis. This position will also require preparation of detailed schedules and supporting documentation for disputes and reconciliations. Perform special assignments on request.
Responsibilities
- Collection activity of various accounts spanning Port Authority lines of businesses, including Real Estate, Aviation, WTC, PATH, Port and others.
- Extensive contact with external customers and internal business partners, both in person and over the phone, to obtain payment
- Respond to inquiries from customers and tenants to discuss issues related to monthly statements and invoices received.
- Provide supporting documentation and account analysis for customers and supervisors as requested.
- Provide other office support and special projects as required

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business from an accredited college or university.
- In lieu of degree, there is a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business administrative functions.
Desired Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of the Port Authority's financial and accounting policies, procedures and systems.
- Demonstrated analytical ability.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including demonstrated experience interacting effectively with all levels of staff, both within and outside the department, and agency.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated experience Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
