About the Role

As a reporting Department to the Chief Financial Officer, the Comptroller's Department is a team of dedicated professionals who ensure the accuracy of the Port Authority's finances. As part of the Comptroller's Department team, you will gain insight and experience surrounding the agency's financial structure and internal control processes as well as knowledge of the operations of our various lines of business, giving you extensive opportunities for a long-term career at the Port Authority.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervising the daily activities of two Staff Accounting Supervisors and an overall staff of 9 responsible for aviation and non-aviation lease control, percentage agreements and various other aviation and non-aviation revenues
  • Reviewing and approving division reports prior to release
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual preparation of the revenue variance and balance sheet analysis and coordinate the timely submission of supporting schedules and support for Comptroller's Dashboard schedules
  • Liaison to internal and external auditors for revenue issues; follow-up for completion of all audit findings and recommendations
  • Developing and implementing a series of internal control checklists and providing analytical review of revenue variances
  • Identifying staff development needs; provide training and development where necessary
  • Work with SAP consultants to develop solutions, facilitate changes and assist in necessary upgrades to SAP Real Estate module
  • Back-up the Revenue Division Manager as required
  • Complete special assignments as requested

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or Corporate Finance from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible managerial experience in an accounting or corporate finance capacity

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Port Authority accounting and financial structure.
  • Knowledge of Port Authority businesses and operations.
  • Knowledge of GAAP as it relates to the Port Authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work independently and prioritize work.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills in reconciling financial information.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate complex information clearly and accurately.
  • Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external staff at all levels.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
