About the Role
Under the supervision of the Staff Accounting Supervisor, the selected candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Daily monitoring of interagency settlement wire approval tracking sheet. Communicate any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Add, update, and track all wires in the wire tracking sheet to provide proper oversight of outgoing and incoming wires. Including validation to SAP.
- Monitor preliminary reports for interagency settlement and review final reports to determine if an adjustment is necessary.
- Update the parking tracking sheet after month-end closing to verify the amounts entered in SAP are correct.
- Work with Cash Receipt desk to identify and code incoming cash receipts
Additional Information
- This position is represented by the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Union.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have completed a minimum of nine (9) college credits in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field from an accredited college or university.
- In lieu of credits, minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience can be accepted.
Desired Qualifications
- Good oral communication, written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with internal staff and external professionals at all levels.
- General knowledge of Port Authority accounting and financial structure.
- Demonstrated PC and data entry skills
- Working knowledge of Excel and comparable software database applications
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
